On July 17 we announced some leadership changes in our student ministries. Over the course of the past ministry year, Freddy Williams and Josh McAlister have been co-pastoring our college/post-college-aged Sojourn Community. In an effort to give that ministry more dedicated leadership, Freddy will be transitioning to the Sojourn Community Pastor. Josh will be moving to the Middle and High School Student Pastor position and a new Middle School Intern, Jason Harting, will relate directly to middle school students.
If you have questions regarding these changes, please feel free to contact us.

Jason is our new Middle School Intern. Jason grew up in Troy, MO and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 2003. He went to college at UCM in Warrensburg, MO where he earned a BS in criminal justice in 2007. While at Warrensburg he attended First Baptist Warrensburg while our own Pastor Bob was there. During his time at Warrensburg he met his future wife, Annah, who he married on July 14, 2007.
Jason has been a Security Officer at Hazelwood Northwest Middle School for the past 3 years and has served in our middle school ministry for the past two years. During last summer’s middle school mission trip to New York City, Jason felt God leading him into vocational student ministry. He began to explore this idea and enrolled at Missouri Baptist University where he is starting his second year of study towards a Masters in Christian Ministry.
Jason has a heart to see students come to know God in a personal way. He excels at building relationships with students and is great at making sure everyone has a sense of belonging. Jason is thrilled to have this opportunity to help in the middle school ministry. He’s excited about what God has in store for this year in our middle school ministry and can’t wait to see how God will use him.
If you’d like to meet Jason in person, please plan to drop by The REALM on July 31 at 5:30 PM, directly prior to the fifth grade promotion meeting.
